Overview

Gentle passes, repeated.

Laser toning uses low-energy passes repeated over a course rather than one strong treatment. That approach is deliberate with pigment, which responds better to gradual work than to force.

It is used for uneven tone and for pigment that keeps returning, including melasma. Settings are chosen for your skin type and a patch test comes first, every time.

  • Low-energy passes, repeated over a course
  • Used for uneven tone and pigment
  • Gradual by design — pigment does not respond to force
  • Patch test before the first session
  • Settings chosen for your skin type
  • Richer skin tones assessed specifically

The treatment

How a course actually runs.

The same three steps every time, for laser toning as for everything else we do.

Step 01

Assessed, not sold to

A clinician looks at your skin or scalp, takes your medical history in person and tells you honestly what will — and will not — help. If the answer is “nothing yet”, that is what you will hear.

Step 02

Tested, then treated

Where a treatment needs one, a small area is tested first so the settings are chosen for your skin rather than guessed. Your plan, session count and total cost are agreed in writing before anything starts.

Step 03

Aftercare you can call on

You leave with written aftercare and a number to ring. A review is booked to check progress and adjust the plan if it needs it — that is where a course gets better, not on the first day.

Before & after

What a course can change.

The first two are unretouched photographs of our own patients. The three marked “Illustration” are simulated to show the kind of change laser toning can make — they are not patient photographs. Individual results vary, so what yours could look like is set out honestly at consultation.

Questions

Good to know.

Short answers to what people ask before booking laser toning.

Speak to the clinic

+44 7487 416555
What is laser toning?

Low-energy laser passes repeated over a course, used to even out tone and soften pigment.

Why is it done gradually?

Pigment responds better to repeated gentle work than to one strong treatment, and a gradual approach is safer on richer skin tones.

Is it safe on darker skin tones?

Yes, when it is set correctly — and that is exactly why we patch test and assess skin type first, every time.

How many sessions will I need?

It is usually planned as a course of three. You get a realistic number at consultation, agreed in writing before you start.

Will the pigment come back?

Some pigment, melasma especially, is prone to returning. Your clinician will be honest about that at consultation rather than after you have paid.
