Overview

Refreshed, not raw.

A power peel uses a medical-grade acid solution to loosen the outer layer of dull, dead skin cells so fresher skin can come through. The type and strength of peel are chosen for your skin, your concern and your skin tone — never picked from a menu.

Peels are most often used for dullness, uneven tone, mild pigmentation, congestion and rough texture. They work best as a short course, with daily sun protection between sessions doing as much of the work as the peel itself.

  • Peel strength chosen for your skin type
  • Dullness, uneven tone and congestion
  • Richer skin tones assessed specifically
  • Patch test where the peel needs one
  • Courses of three, agreed in writing
  • Written aftercare and sun advice

The peels in detail

What each one is.

Which peel suits you, and how many sessions, is decided at your consultation and agreed in writing before anything starts.

Yellow Peel

Dullness, uneven tone & texture

A retinol-based peel that leaves a yellow-orange tint on the skin for a few hours. Commonly chosen for dullness, uneven tone and rough texture.

In clinic
Applied in clinic, then left on at home for several hours — you are told exactly when to wash it off.
Afterwards
Light flaking usually starts after two to four days and settles within about a week.
Good to know
Retinoid peels are not used in pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Price
£299 a session (was £427), or £799 for a course of three (was £1,141).

Green Peel

Dull or congested skin

Dr. Schrammek’s Green Peel: a herbal peel made from plant ingredients, with no acids, massaged into the skin by hand.

In clinic
The herbs are worked into the skin in clinic; a short follow-up visit a few days later is part of the treatment.
Afterwards
With the classic version, skin usually peels from around day three and is largely settled by day five. Lighter versions cause no visible peeling.
Good to know
New skin is more sensitive to the sun — avoid strong sun and use a high SPF daily for several weeks.
Price
£200 a session (was £286), or £550 for a course of three (was £786).

Cosmelan Peel

Stubborn pigmentation & melasma

mesoestetic’s Cosmelan: a two-stage depigmentation method used for melasma and stubborn pigmentation.

In clinic
A mask is applied in clinic and left on at home for 8–12 hours, as your clinician directs. Home-care creams start a few days later.
Afterwards
Expect redness and peeling for several days. Daily sun protection and maintenance matter — melasma can return.
Good to know
Pigmentation peels can make things worse if poorly chosen, so your skin type is assessed carefully first.
Price
£973 for a single session (was £1,390).

Black Peel

Oily, congested & acne-prone skin

A peel chosen for oily, congested or acne-prone skin.

In clinic
What it involves, and how long it takes, is explained at your consultation for your skin.
Afterwards
Your clinician tells you what to expect before you book.
Good to know
Your medical history and current skincare are checked first.
Price
£120 a session (was £171), or £299 for a course of three (was £427).

BioRePeel

Texture, tone & fine lines

BioRePeelCl3: a two-phase peel based on trichloroacetic acid (TCA), combined with other acids, amino acids and vitamins.

In clinic
Massaged into the skin for a few minutes, then removed. Usually planned as four to six sessions, a week or so apart.
Afterwards
Usually little visible peeling; some redness or tightness for a short time is common.
Good to know
Your clinician confirms whether it suits your skin and history before you start.
Price
£150 a session (was £214), or £399 for a course of three (was £570).

Common and short-lived

Redness, stinging, tightness and flaking for a few days.

Less common

A cold sore flare-up; temporary darkening or lightening of the skin — more likely on darker skin, and occasionally lasting. Infection and scarring are rare.

Not suitable, or not yet

During pregnancy or breastfeeding for some peels; with an active cold sore, infection or broken skin; after recent isotretinoin; or with a history of keloid scarring.

Every time

Your medical history checked in person, a patch test where the peel needs one, written aftercare, and daily SPF 30 or higher afterwards.

The treatment

How a course actually runs.

The same three steps every time, for power peels as for everything else we do.

Step 01

Assessed, not sold to

A clinician looks at your skin, takes your medical history in person and tells you honestly what will — and will not — help. If the answer is “nothing yet”, that is what you will hear.

Step 02

Tested, then treated

Where a treatment needs one, a small area is tested first so the settings are chosen for your skin rather than guessed. Your plan, session count and total cost are agreed in writing before anything starts.

Step 03

Aftercare you can call on

You leave with written aftercare and a number to ring. A review is booked to check progress and adjust the plan if it needs it — that is where a course gets better, not on the first day.

Questions

Good to know.

Short answers to what people ask before booking power peels.

Speak to the clinic

+44 7487 416555
Will my skin visibly peel?

It depends on the peel. Some leave skin a little dry or flaky for a few days; others show very little at all. Your clinician will tell you what to expect from the peel chosen for you before you start.

Is it suitable for darker skin tones?

Often, yes — but the choice of peel matters more on richer skin tones, because the wrong one can leave dark marks. We assess this specifically and test first where the peel needs it.

How many sessions will I need?

The published course is three sessions. A realistic number for your skin is agreed in writing at consultation.

What should I avoid afterwards?

Sun exposure, active skincare such as retinoids and exfoliating acids, and heat treatments, for as long as your clinician advises. Daily SPF matters most of all.

Who should not have a peel?

Some peels are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active cold sores or broken skin in the area, or after certain acne medicines. Your medical history is checked first, every time.

What are the risks?

Most people have some redness, stinging or flaking for a few days. Less often, a peel can trigger a cold sore or leave the skin temporarily darker or lighter — more likely on darker skin, and occasionally lasting. Infection and scarring are rare. Every risk is explained, and given in writing, before you book.

Which peel is right for me?

That depends on your skin type, your concern and your history, which is why it is decided at the consultation rather than chosen from a menu. If none of the five suits you, you will be told.
