Overview
Your own collagen, prompted.
Microneedling creates fine, controlled micro-channels in the skin with sterile needles. The skin responds to those channels by producing new collagen, which is what changes texture over a course.
It is planned as a course rather than a single session, because the collagen response builds between visits. Depth and spacing are set for your skin at consultation. Where it suits your skin, a compatible skin booster may be applied as part of the session — your clinician decides this at consultation, because not every product is suitable for use with microneedling.
- Prompts the skin's own collagen response
- Used on the face and neck
- Planned over a course, not one session
- Depth, and any skin booster, set for your skin
- Often paired with laser resurfacing
- Progress reviewed at every visit
The treatment
How a course actually runs.
The same three steps every time, for microneedling as for everything else we do.
Step 01
Assessed, not sold to
A clinician looks at your skin or scalp, takes your medical history in person and tells you honestly what will — and will not — help. If the answer is “nothing yet”, that is what you will hear.
Step 02
Tested, then treated
Where a treatment needs one, a small area is tested first so the settings are chosen for your skin rather than guessed. Your plan, session count and total cost are agreed in writing before anything starts.
Step 03
Aftercare you can call on
You leave with written aftercare and a number to ring. A review is booked to check progress and adjust the plan if it needs it — that is where a course gets better, not on the first day.

Questions
Good to know.
Short answers to what people ask before booking microneedling.
Speak to the clinic
+44 7487 416555What does microneedling do?
It creates fine, controlled micro-channels in the skin. The skin's response to those channels is what produces new collagen over the weeks that follow.
Do you use a skin booster with it?
Sometimes. Where it suits your skin, a compatible skin booster may be applied during the session. Not every booster is suitable for use with microneedling, so your clinician decides at consultation.
How many sessions will I need?
Most skin courses run to three to six sessions, spaced to let the collagen response build. You get a realistic number in writing at consultation.
Is there downtime?
Expect some redness afterwards — the results on this page for a needling and resurfacing course describe two to three days. Your clinician gives you an honest estimate for your plan before you book.
Does it hurt?
Comfort is checked throughout, and the treatment is carried out at a pace you are happy with. Tell your clinician at any point and they will stop.
What are the risks?
Depending on your skin this can include redness, swelling, temporary changes in pigment or — rarely — infection or scarring. Your clinician goes through the specific risks for your skin type at consultation and gives them to you in writing.
