Overview
Several routes, one skin.
Pore size is largely determined by skin type and oil production, so the honest aim is refining how pores look and keeping them clear rather than closing them permanently.
Laser, peels, microneedling, skin boosters and threads each work on this from a different angle. Which one, or which combination, depends on your skin and the type of pore — that is what the consultation is for.
- Laser, peels, needling, boosters or threads
- Chosen for your skin, not from a menu
- Often combined with oil management
- Planned as a course
- Consultation and skin assessment
- Honest about what pores can and cannot do
Treatment options
Matched to the type of pore.
Pores look different depending on your skin type and how much support the skin has lost, and that changes which treatment helps. Treatment can improve how pores look and how smooth skin feels; it cannot close them permanently. Every route comes with oil-control and skincare advice for your skin type.
Pore types we assess
- O-shaped — round, open pores, usually with oily skin
- U-shaped — pores that stretch as skin loses elasticity and begins to sag
- Y-shaped — elongated pores where collagen loss is significant
Laser treatment
- Carbon laser: a carbon mask and laser pass for oil and congestion
- Settings chosen for your skin type
- More on carbon laser treatment
Chemical peels
- Medical-grade peels to clear congestion and smooth texture
- Strength chosen for your skin
- More on power peels
Microneedling
- Fine, controlled channels that prompt collagen around the pores
- Used for texture, over a course
- More on microneedling
Skin boosters
- Considered where loss of elasticity is part of the picture
- Hydrate and support the skin around the pores
- More on skin boosters
Threads
- Considered where loss of firmness is stretching the pores
- Planned only after your skin has been assessed
The treatment
How a course actually runs.
The same three steps every time, for open pores as for everything else we do.
Step 01
Assessed, not sold to
A clinician looks at your skin or scalp, takes your medical history in person and tells you honestly what will — and will not — help. If the answer is “nothing yet”, that is what you will hear.
Step 02
Tested, then treated
Where a treatment needs one, a small area is tested first so the settings are chosen for your skin rather than guessed. Your plan, session count and total cost are agreed in writing before anything starts.
Step 03
Aftercare you can call on
You leave with written aftercare and a number to ring. A review is booked to check progress and adjust the plan if it needs it — that is where a course gets better, not on the first day.
Before & after
What a course can change.
The first two are unretouched photographs of our own patients. The three marked “Illustration” are simulated to show the kind of change treatment can make — they are not patient photographs. Individual results vary, so what yours could look like is set out honestly at consultation.

Prices
How pore treatment is priced.
Open pores are treated with laser, peels, microneedling, skin boosters or threads depending on your skin, so there is no one price to publish. Laser, peels and microneedling run from £120 to £250 a session on the price list, skin boosters from £99 per ml, and threads are priced at consultation. Which applies to you, and over how many sessions, is settled at the consultation.
- Priced by the route your skin needs
- Laser, peels and needling run £120 to £250 a session
- Usually a course of three, agreed before you start
- Often combined with oil management at no extra cost
Questions
Good to know.
Short answers to what people ask before booking open pores.
Speak to the clinic
+44 7487 416555Can open pores be closed permanently?
No, and any clinic that tells you otherwise is overselling. Pore size is largely down to skin type and oil production. What treatment can do is refine how they look and keep them clear.
Which treatment is best for me?
It depends on your skin and the type of pore. Laser, peels, microneedling, skin boosters and threads each work on this from a different angle, and the consultation establishes which is appropriate.
Why is there no price online?
Because the plan differs per person. You get a figure in writing at the consultation before anything is booked.
How many sessions will I need?
Most skin courses run to three to six sessions, agreed in writing up front.
How much is the consultation?
Yes, and it carries no obligation.
