Overview

Your own blood, concentrated.

A small sample of your blood is taken and spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets. That concentrate is then placed across the areas of the scalp where hair is thinning.

It works on follicles that are still active, not on scalp that has gone bare — which is why it is used for early pattern thinning and why starting sooner gives it more to work with. It is planned as a course and reviewed as it goes.

  • Uses your own platelets, nothing synthetic
  • For early pattern thinning
  • Works on follicles that are still active
  • Planned as a course of three or six
  • Progress reviewed at every visit
  • Consultation and assessment first

Before & after

What a course can change.

These are illustrations, simulated to show the kind of change a course aims for — they are not patient photographs. Response to hair treatment varies a great deal from person to person, so what is realistic for you is set out honestly at consultation.

The treatment

How a course actually runs.

The same three steps every time, for prp as for everything else we do.

Step 01

Assessed, not sold to

A clinician looks at your skin or scalp, takes your medical history in person and tells you honestly what will — and will not — help. If the answer is “nothing yet”, that is what you will hear.

Step 02

Tested, then treated

Where a treatment needs one, a small area is tested first so the settings are chosen for your skin rather than guessed. Your plan, session count and total cost are agreed in writing before anything starts.

Step 03

Aftercare you can call on

You leave with written aftercare and a number to ring. A review is booked to check progress and adjust the plan if it needs it — that is where a course gets better, not on the first day.

What is PRP for hair?

A small sample of your own blood is spun to concentrate the platelets, which are then placed across the thinning areas of the scalp.

Will it work for me?

It works on follicles that are still active — it will not regrow hair from a scalp that has gone bare. A clinician assesses your scalp at the consultation and tells you honestly whether it is worth doing.

How many sessions will I need?

Courses run to three or six sessions. You get a realistic number at consultation, agreed in writing before you start.

Does it hurt?

Comfort is checked throughout and the treatment goes at a pace you are happy with.

How much is the consultation?

Yes, and there is no obligation to book afterwards. If PRP will not help you, you will hear that.
